What to bring to a hair consultation in Stafford

You do not need to know the name of every technique before making an inquiry. A clear description of your current hair and your goal is a useful starting point.

Make your reference photos useful

Bring a current photo of your hair and a small set of inspiration images. For each reference, explain what you like and what you do not want. Discuss timing, budget and upkeep before deciding on a service, and keep the consultation focused on an achievable plan for your starting point.

Bring current photos and a few references

Take clear photographs of your hair from the front, back and side in ordinary lighting. Keep filters off so the starting color and shape are easier to discuss. Add a few reference images and explain exactly what attracts you to each one.

Goldie’s custom color and cut gallery offers examples of color placement, short shapes and shaved details. A reference helps communicate a goal, but its result, timing and process are not automatically transferable to your hair.

Write down the history you can remember

Include previous permanent or temporary colors, lightening, home treatments and extensions. Approximate dates are useful even when you do not remember every product. Explain what you liked or disliked about earlier appointments so the discussion is grounded in your experience.

Share any sensitivities or concerns before arranging the service, and ask the stylist about any checks or preparation required. This guide helps you organize an inquiry; the service plan must be discussed directly for your own starting point.

Choose your priorities before your deadline

Tell us your preferred timing, budget range and whether there is an event date. Identify the most important feature: a certain shape, a color family, lower upkeep or a removable look. Ask whether the goal needs more than one appointment, and what alternatives could fit your timing.

Ask questions that explain the whole plan

  • Which parts of this reference are practical for my starting hair?
  • What is included in the quote, and what could change it?
  • What appointment length and follow-up visits should I plan for?
  • What styling or home-care routine would you recommend?
  • Would a removable accessory help achieve the look?

Read the vivid-color upkeep guide if color maintenance is your main question, or the removable accessory guide if you want to compare a temporary option.
